Round Blue Rug

The majority of our living and working spaces are characterised by straight lines, right angles, or carpet squares. We frequently use square furniture to create a natural environment for ourselves. With a round blue rug in the mix, however, we need to start thinking outside the box and choose something more creative that will complement our design sensibilities.

The rule that applies to square and rectangular blue rugs — try to get at least some of the furniture in your sitting area to touch the rug — applies even more strongly to round rugs. When measuring, keep in mind that the rug's curved edges may appear odd if they don't allow enough of the furniture to rest on top. A round dining table or coffee table will complement any shaped blue and white rug, but there is a certain harmony that occurs when a round furniture piece is combined with a round rug. Just make sure that, in the case of dining tables, you get a round blue rug that is large enough to accommodate the dining chairs when they are pulled out to eat.

A round blue rug has even more opportunity to show off its curvy shape in a room with minimal design and furnishings. Round blue rugs, on the other hand, tend to soften the sometimes sharp and harsh edges that some minimalist spaces can have. A round blue rug, especially one that is colourful or patterned, combined with a small and functional furniture piece can create a powerful and unique vignette in an entryway, as a bathroom rug, or corner of a larger room. Connecting your round blue rug to a visual focal point in your space, such as a statement piece of furniture or art, will give your rug something in common with something else in the room, allowing you to be a little more flexible with where you place it in the space and how big it needs to be.

Most people's living spaces are filled with rectangular shapes and sharp edges. A round blue rug can help soften the edges of the room, making it more comfortable and inviting. Shaggy rugs with a deep, plush pile, such as the one shown here, are ideal for sinking your toes into. An otherwise neutral living room is brightened by a vintage-inspired oval rug in orange, blue, and pink rug. Use a couple of colours from the white rug as accents, such as the blue pillows and orange throw shown here. Add some metallic touches for extra style points to take your space to the next level.

The kitchen and breakfast nook are two other natural places for a round blue and white rug, as these areas are usually cold. For these high-traffic areas, choose a flat weave, braided, or easy-to-clean material, such as an indoor/outdoor rug, that can withstand heavy foot traffic and spills. Your bedroom is your haven. It's the one place where you can get away from the stresses of everyday life and express yourself through design. Add a blue round rug to your bedroom to make it a place of rest and refuge.
